Nickel Rim Cud Or Solder Damage New To Coins

thriftstoremom1 New Member United States 8 Posts	Posted 08/05/2022 11:56 pm Hi, I found this 1964 nickel with these two obvious issues. Trying to figure out if this is an error coin or intentional damage post mint.I can't find anything about an edge Cud error from the mint causing an indent in the rim so I am thinking this is post mint damage. coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 08/06/2022 1:14 pm The problem is that if there were a piece of the die that broke off, it would be a void on the die. Voids on dies show what the piece of die area that is not missing, as a raised area on the coin, not a missing area on the coin. So this is just damage to the coin. Also the reverse would also show weakness opposite that area. Report this Post to the Staff
