Do you see this as a "straight grading" one, or would the marks behind the head on the obverse "details" it? How strictly are these papal states coins graded? Thanks. Report this Post to the Staff

I would buy this coin in a heartbeat if I were interested in the reverse scene and the price were right. It is a somewhat atypical depiction of John. There is also a piastre of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany struck around the same time, with a scene of John baptizing Jesus: https://en.numista.com/catalogue/pieces98909.html Report this Post to the Staff
