I received these photos from Basic Bob looking for some help. While he gets his gallery squared away, I thought I'd post these for him. This is what I received from him:

I have it labeled as China, 1919-1921 but don't know where I got that info, picked it up in Korea around 1966.

thanxz tights,

as stated above, found this in Korea in '66; have it labeled as China 1919-1921 but don't can't remember where I got this info from and whether it was a good source. Would appreciate verification/identification along with approx. value. It is silver, slightly larger than a Morgan dollar, scratchs are in celo of 2x2, not on coin. thanxz to all. bob

It's a China Republic 1 dollar (yuan) Y#329.5 (reeded edge) or 329.6 (I understand this type would have plain edge)
Looks like the date is "year 10" = 1921, though Krause says they were restruck.

Well, the book says $15 in Fine ($20*), $16.50 ($32.50) in VF, $22.50 ($45) in EF.
* if it's the reeded edge var.

As with many Chinese silver, I've seen counterfeits of this type, though if you have it since 1966 I think the chances of it being a fake are much smaller. I think someone else should address this issue since I haven't got much experience regarding counterfeits.
Anyway, the weight of this coin should be 26.4 g.

thanxz DL, don't have a gram-o-meter check weight, but will try to figure something out as to verify genuine or fake, like you said the possibilty of a fake I think is low due to time of possession. may have to take to Houston and let dealer check.

Tap it with another coin and if it rings, it should be real.

or... get a morgan, tap it with a quarter, and listen to the sound. Then tap the big-head coin with the quarter and if it sounds similar, then it should be real.
