Hello all,

First time poster here. First off, LOVE the site/community. Will do all I can to follow rules of the forum.

I wanted to ask about this 1987 Philadelphia Mint Quarter. It seems that the motto reads, "N GOD WE TRUST"

I guess my question/need of confirmation is... Is this just normal wear and tear like rubbing or is this some sort of double strike? (Sorry if my terminology is off. Look forward to correcting and learning the correct coin jargon here with y'alls help)

Thank you for any input,

Evan

P.S. I did do a search for this and found a post almost spot-on for what I am mentioning, however the post was over 2 years old and the warning message that popped up led me to creating a whole new current post on the topic.

Thanks again!!

Welcome! Your photo isn't very focused, hard to see the detail.

In my opinion this is just circulation wear. It's so worn even if it was a double die/strike it wouldn't be worth a lot. There's a big difference in value between double die and common Machine Doubling.

Could be die wear or perhaps a minor grease issue. Nothing special, just a spender.

I agree with either minor grease strike or circulation wear. Not worth above face value either way, imo.

Wow, thank y'all for the quick responses! I'll try to take and post better images in the future.

If you have a moment, please see my post in re: Potential Crack on 1999 Connecticut P Mint Quarter. Let me know what you think about the quality of the attached images. Also, maybe your opinion on the question posed in the post.

Thank all of you again, really liking this forum/community thus far!!!

Evan
