As Rob said, it's listed as a R/P'd 9 but we did that for a number of dates/denominations rather than delineate how many whacks it took. It looks like 3 to me from the tail
It is three, but one of the hits was rather inconsequential. All three hits show more clearly in the upper loop of the nine than in the knob. See the Charlton photo from 2011.
