Wear, bag/circulation marks. strike quality, corrosion or damage, etc.

Take a look at https://www.PCGS.com/grades/ for information on grading standards. You can also take a look at https://www.PCGS.com/photograde/ as a visual guide to the different coins issued by the US mint..
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

Well a not so common question but I would first look to see if the coin is genuine . Then to tell if the coin has been cleaned or is there any way the coin is a details coin ; bent , heavy scratches, heavy gouges ,corroded ,etc . If all is good try to detect if the coin was circulated or uncirculated . If you see obvious wear ,then how much ( check PCGS photo grade ) . Same way if it's uncirculated . Try to compare your coin to photo Grade . Now don't think Walla your done grading ,there are other factors to take into consideration . If Copper what color is it ,can be many shades but you must determine if it was cleaned and retoned . BTW I'm assuming your talking about raw coins .

As suggested, PCGS photograde would be a good start.

Grading 102 is better. If you want to go to grading, is worth to pay the class from ANACS. This will be the best buster.

Silviosi- He's a beginner, start with 101.

That's why " videos" is Plural, all inclusive.

I'm not going to sit here and mention every video, but rather he can look after the introduction video.

@Numi: I say to take the courses and not to look at videos. Classroom with Bret will be the best thing. Once I ask Bret if him think that the only video will made you a grader. Him laugh. And answer: if is part of the class and I am online to assist and guide will be, if not is lost of time: in video I can not put everything. 101 is nothing. If you buy the ANA grading book and Heritage grading book and read you will pass the 101. Sorry but the reality is this.

Of course classes in person are best, that goes without saying

No one is arguing just the videos will be best.
