Does anyone know of a dealer around South Louisiana? I recently inherited a collection of coins. Never thought coins were that interesting until now. I am really excited to find out exactly what I have. I don't look at pocket change the same

I done the research on what they are from coinfacts.com. I was just wondering if they're worth anything, if they are special in any way, and about what they would be graded. Ex. I have a 1900-O that looks alot different than the others, maybe it could be an O/CC, IDK.

First of all let me welcome you to the place where you should ask your questions. Do not take any coins to a coin shop until you've discussed that with the members here. If you don't know how or don't have the equipment to take photos, make a list of what you have. Discribe each coin to the best of your abilities. Such as type, denomination, approximate appearance, date and if you can find the mint mark list that also. And you don't have to list them all at one time. You might want to list similar types each time you submit them here.

Post a few pics that you think are the better coins. Otherwise post a list of what you have and we will try to help you out

If you are still interested in a dealer from your area, I would recommend Lynn Ourso, he is from the Baton Rouge area. I do not think he has a shop though, he is a show dealer but he is a fair gentleman to do business with.

Justin, send me an email if you can. I know of a really good dealer in Denham Springs that will not rip you off (whatever you do, do not go to Louisiana Gold because they will rip you off).

Not a problem, Lynn is not an elite snobbish dealer or a ripoff artist. He specializes in Seated Liberty coinage and New Orleans Mint issues but carries a bit of everything. Sure, he has some high dollar coins but he also has a large selection of collector grade coins under $100. I have made a few purchases from him at shows in St Louis and I have always been pleased with his service and merchandise. As an aside, he loaned the Louisiana State Museum in the old New Orleans Mint his large collection of New Orleans coinage. I have not seen it yet but I have heard it is quite spectacular
