Updated list of currently circulating coins:

Denmark, Krone, 1, 2, 5
Egyp, Piastres, 25
Japan, Yen 5, 50
Norway, Krone 1, 5
Papua New Guinea, Kina, 1
Philippines, Centavo/Sentimo, 5
Poland, Zloty, 2

I would be very glad if you could help me find more coins like them.

Also doesn't Philippines 5 centavos have a hole?

I'm not aware of anyone that's compiled a list of holed coins, current or obsolete; "hole" doesn't give any hits on the WCG topical/subject page.

So we'll have to make our own list. Here are a couple more, off the top of my head:

Hungary 2 filler (though I think this one might be obsolete now)
Papua New Guinea 1 kina

I'd assume it is since I've heard they've withdrawn the 1 and 2 forint as well.

If you're only after the currently circulating coins, you're not going to have a large collection

What were the mintage's of these? I made may trips to Rota, Cadiz, Jerez and Cartagena in that decade and never got one with a hole. In fact I don't ever remember getting a 25 Peseta minted after 1988.

OOPS! Just went thru a box of my darkies. Found one, A 1997M. Man what a beautiful coin. That is why I like the world coins. They are not limited to the busts of past leaders on the obverse.

It's interesting but difficult to compile if you only include currently circulating. You might add one to the list that gets removed next week. You would be constantly revising it.

It would be relatively easy to compile (but time consuming) if you took a certain time frame. Flipping through Krause they would stand out reasonably well.

First off all thank you for all your fast answers! Thanks to DL20K for the correction, of course it should be Japanese Yen 50. As I already said I only want to have currently circulating coins on the list. I am aware of the problem that a coin could be obsoleted every moment, but that doesn't matter. If it would happen I would take it from the list. I am going to update the list in the beginning of the tread so everybody can see it.

OK, well the place to start looking is definitely numismaster.com

Search for the keyword of "hole" and then narrow down the complete list of 761 from there.

As DL20K says, this will be a fairly short list. I think the biggest obstacle is establishing whether or not a coin still circulates. Unless you can contact someone in each country there is no definite way of knowing that I can think of.

As an example if you take the USA, there can be coins dated 1909 (and earlier) in circulation as they have had no reforms and the coins still look very similar (at least on one side).

On the other hand a country may still appear to be using a coin, because it is part of a current series, or reform, but in reality they are not as the denomination is virtually worthless. This is information only those on the ground can give you.

As Sap said the Papua New Guinea 1 Kina
also the Egyptian 25 Piastres.

I am not sure if the 2 Polish coins still circulate.

DL20K or DagonX, over to you?

These two? You can find in circulation (sometimes) 2 zlote Golden Nordic (GN), but 10 zlotych made in silver is impossible, in my opinion, to find in circulation. As I wrote they are commemorative coins
