On second thought the 1 and the 0 in the date also are different from the image of the 1909SVDB I have.

I can't pull up a close-up image of the coin (but I would have defered to the opinions of other people on this forum anyway). It does highlight the need to use someone trusted for high-end purchases. Otherwise, I would have wanted at least a slabbed coin before paying a thousand bucks for one coin.

The second I saw it, I thought, "The whole coin is wrong!!" Because the 09 was the first year of the type, Lincoln's bust is MUCH sharper than the coin pictured here. Based on the appearance of the bust due to years of wear to the master hub, and the lettering in IN GOD WE TRUST, I would say the coin is of about mid 40's to early 50's vintage. Almost looks like somebody glued the entire date to it (not to mention how WRONG the numbers in the date look)

Bidding is now at $1,236.11. I bet it will clear $1700 with snipes. If only these bidders knew other collectors like here to ask before they bid.

I feel like bidding 15,000 bucks with my secondary account and leaving negative feedback but then no buyer should ever buy a coin like that when it is not authenticated. What I feel like doing and what I do are two different things most times, but it gets me mad. I certainly won't do that. It's just a sad reality of what this world we live in can be like sometimes. Besides, I cannot get the whole listing to show. It will not load for bigger images for some reason. It stops where the line reads: On Feb-16-09 at 17:41:46 PST, seller added the following information:and that's all I can see. I liked ebay ( a little bit better ) back when you could contact other bidders and warn them. I think bidders should be able to ask questions and they would show in the listing. I would bet a few wrote asking about the coin but giving any answer will hurt the final price realized.

Why anyone would put themselves in a situation of buying this coin raw is beyond logic especially the inexperienced. This may sound harsh, but let the winner learn from this, especially if this clown does not offer a return privilege. I NEVER bid on any coin unless it has at least a 7-day return privilege. By the way, ebay does not want to solve this problem so don't hold your breath.

Wouldn't be the first time. The very first thing we'd do is welcome him in and tell him to get a refund
