1851 Half Eagle: Did NGC Get It Right?

I bid on a second coin as well in an attempt to make the CA sales tax exemption threshold of $1500 but didn't get that one. So, California got their pound of flesh this time. I hate that. Nevertheless, the coin is OK. How does she grade? FYI, the overall color of both sides is closer to that of the reverse photo. The obverse in-hand isn't that orange-looking. NickMar28 New Member Canada 36 Posts	Posted 09/11/2022 8:15 pm Wear-wise it looks EF40 at first glance, but it might be poorly struck. In that case, it could certainly be mid-AU with very little actual wear. The rims are in nice shape. Report this Post to the Staff
