Here's a one ounce silver medal that I designed back in 2000. I was long a member of this Jamestown, NY club. We averaged 75-80 members at a meeting back then. Of 8-10 design entries, mine was chosen, and I was awarded a 10th oz. Gold Eagle. The reverse die was a presidential, stock design (sorry, no pic). A few hundred bronze pieces were struck by a Rochester company, along with a hundred or less silver pieces. They sold out, and I now wonder how few may have survived the melting pot?
Chautauqua County is in the westernmost reaches of NY State. It's largely rural and boasts a central lake that stretches twenty miles. Grape vineyards stretch along the coastal waters of Lake Erie.
This medal was struck during the 1983 Hawaii State Numismatic Association (HSNA) coin show by The Hawaiian Mint (now known as the Royal Hawaiian Mint).
Gary Burke medal produced for KOTCT by Daniel Carr of Moonlight Mint. Gary was also a very active member on this forum. Sadly passed away in 2010, but never forgotten.
