Here's another 1808 Capped Bust half dollar that I recently acquired. This is one that I won't end up keeping in my collection due to the cleaning. Instead, I'll likely sell it at a small booth that I run or to another interested collector/seller in my area. Still, before I sell it, I wanted to get everyone's thoughts on the grade of the coin.

I'll say AU details (harshly cleaned). Coin is a mess.

Hard to tell if there is any real wear as the cleaning is in the same area. AU-55 details coin.

AU details, harshly cleaned. Might have even been MS before they applied the wire brush or whatever was used to try to remove toning.

AU-55 Cleaned

The O-104 is usually seen in lower grades, weaker strikes, and with problems. This coin has a very good strike for the issue and the EDS would make it even more desirable. Would've been big money if it wasn't for the cleaning...

AU-55 details but would drop it lower due to the harshness of the cleaning. Too bad, looks like it was nice.

I'm thinking UNC details cleaned. I don't see any wear beyond the obvious cleaning and polishing marks. Whoever did that really ruined a pretty nice coin.
