Just back from the Dublin coin fair - it was very well attended and great fun.

I bought a few "expensive coins" but had the most fun going through the €1 and €2 pick trays

here are some from those

Turkey 1223 (30) 20 Para - KM596

East Africa Protectrate 1898 1 Pice KM1 (this one I was most pleased with - a strangely high cat value too)

France 1791 - though I haven;t nailed it down totally yet with that dog mintmark

Regarding the French coin:

I believe the mint mark is the "T" at 6 o'clock on the reverse, indicating it was made in Nantes. I think the dog at 6 o'clock on the obverse is a seated greyhound, the mint director's privy mark for Marie-Joseph Francois.

Hi Bilbo -- thank you very much for your identification on that -- I admit I hadn'd got around to nailing it down -- I see my Krause has the date but no other info on it - but I assume around £4 or so would be reasonable.

I did have quite a few ohter coins in my hands but put them back -- I wish I hadn't now -- the children could have always eaten next week
