Hi I'm new to all this and wondered whether someone can please advice if this is an error coin or if it is normal for proof coins. I have not seen it before.

Desertflower

What about this coin makes you think there might be an error?

If you mean that circle around near the edge, I believe that is just part of the capsule.

Hi Machine Man, thanks for replying. Yes if you look closely there is a ring inside the dodecoagonal edge of the coin. It is significant around three quarters of the coin and extremely minimal at the top and top left of the coin. This is on both sides of the coin.

Here is a 2014 proof coin showing the same "ring"

Maybe you can open the capsule and see if it is actually on the coin or is part of the capsule itself.

Hi MachinMachinMan, it does look the same as the coin you posted so it is likely to be part of the packaging then.Id prefer not to open it and will accept that this is what it is.Thank you for your assistance.

One more question MachinMan. I also noticed that part of the 0 and one of the emus feet is printed on that ring which is then presumably the edge of the coin, thoughts?

If you shake the capsule you will notice the coin moves around in there. Your coin is probably not sitting in the centre of the capsule.
