I know this is not a Canadian coin but does the British Royal Mint do something differently than the Canadian mint.
This looks like a legitimate clip but why is there no blakesley affect opposite the clip?
I realize that on large clips there may be little or no blakesley effect, but this clip is not all that large.
A similar sized clip on a Canadian coin would leave a very noticeable blakesley effect.
Coin referred to is here-> https://www.ebay.ca/itm/363978663502

Cheers, Bill

Although the majority of clipped planchets will usually show the blakesely effect, its not always set in stone. There are a number of genuine clipped planchets on Canadian, US and other world coins that don't have the blakesely effect present.

They WILL however always show the tell tale sign of Dovetailing, which that coin does, so yes it is genuine without the blakesely effect present.
