That was a great buy. As a dealer I'm paying over $3 for virtually any pre-1965 silver half. I guess some dealers can't keep their older inventory prices updated to the new levels. Congrats on a great buy! Nick

This Saturday I will WORK (yeah right) my first full day in a very active coin shop. My dealer and great friend just moved to a new location and this shop requires two individuals be present at all times. His wife will be away visiting family down south and I got the honor of being asked to fill in! I took the request as quite an honor as my dealer knows a tremendous amount of collectors in this area and I got the call! This will be kind of like dying and going to heaven! Not to mention the extra income to put back into coins!!!

Well, Terry, isn't this like putting the fox in the hen house? Are you actually planning on bringing home a paycheck or do you realize that you're probably going to just spend it all right there at work? Seriously, I'm glad that you'll be doing something that you like. It's about time you got a break!

Gosh Terry, I hope it doesn't take away to much time in your own selecting of coins to help a few customers that may come in see what is offered. Don't want to slight the customer, unless they insist on buying the one coin you have already decided to take home your self.

Terry Check the dress code before you go to work. David Kennedy a friend of the family and former Secretary of the Treasury once offered me any job I wanted at the Mint or the Bureau of engraving. However he said I would have to work in the nude. Hopefully he was joking but I turned him down anyway I don't know that I would let you work in my coin shop if you had pockets in your clothing & I did not own a metal scanner. In truth we all love and trust you and hope you have a great time any other comments -just means we are all jealous - except for the forum members that already have coin shops and know how much work and responsibility it really is.

Terry. Have a good time, and take some of those Coin Community cards to pass out to customers so that you are able to promote our forum!

Fantastic bargain Grovey, did you buy the lot? Terry, here is a suggestion. Why not surprise and impress your new boss by having a "Face Value" sale, getting rid of all that old stock and getting some fresh shiny new coins in. He will be amazed at what a great salesperson you are with such a large turn over of stock. Good Luck, most of all have fun!

Terry, remember to go to work with a lunch from home, no credit or debit cards, no checkbook and no cash! Now, if you want to trade wages for coins that's another story! Have fun. Mike

Terry, sounds like a good opportunity to meet and talk with a lot of collectors. I'm sure they'll find you very knowledgeable and informative. Be sure and let us know how it went. Rick
