Hello. I'm planning on buying this coin and I think it is worth $5.5, even though there's a giant hole in the middle looking like a beats headphone. I was wondering if it would grade high enough in the eyes of the community to see if it is really worth paying $5.5 for the coin. I keep looking at the coin and compare it to PCGS photograde and I'm getting AU-Details. It would be nice to hear other opinions.

I wouldn't spend money on a holed/damaged coin unless it was a key date.

Worth cull price, certainly not $5.50 in my eyes. I wouldn't pay anything for that, just because it would be a hard sell and takes up space.

I personally wouldn't pay $5.50 for it. With that said, I bet you that someone on ebay would be willing to pay that price or higher for the coin. As the saying goes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. As for the grade, I don't see any discernable luster from these photos, which limits the coin to an XF grade in my book.

AU sharpness with 4 diamonds, but clearly a details coin. I wouldn't even pay a dollar for it.

I didn't notice the last 8 but I keep going over the last 8 of the 1888 and I see abnormalities. The images I have are terrible and I can't see what's wrong with the 8. I'm looking at 1888/7 examples and I see similarities, so I gambled.

It's a cull, not worth much over a buck. AU-50 details, damaged.

The date position is wrong and there is no rim Cud at E in UNITED, so it isn't an 1888/7.

The rim Cud is not always found, but the date logo position on the OP's specimen is not correct relative to the bust tip and denticles.

@Coinfrog, I also checked the position of the date. The position is wrong when I compare it to the position of the 7 on other 1888/7 examples.
