got this 51 half with a good amount of what I think is die clashing and some funky stuff in his ear.

Yep, he's got a hearing aid and a few large insects that have landed on his face. You'll have to wait for the guru of the 50 cent pieces to chime in... "pg in rh" is the guru and Paul will let you know what you have. I've always loved the intricate reverse of those coins.

okiecoiner pretty much called it.
That chip in his ear is called a hearing aid and there are some
nice die clashes, not uncommon on George VI halves.
It is also the Narrow Date Variety if you collect varieties.
As far as grade, With the amount of wear on the hair, I
would say it falls some wear in the VF 20-30 range.

I am not used to seeing a 1951 with so many die clash marks . usually you see the ones in the ear. The 1943 to 1946 50c coins can have some pretty varied die clash marks but the 1951s not so. Nice find.
