I have a 1936 Wheat penny with the number 2 on the back. I have searched high and low and haven't been able to find anything regarding this so I'm not sure if it's an actual error or done by an individual. I'm new to this so any help would be greatly appreciated. TIA

The "2" was added to the cent by someone after it had left the US Mint - it is not a error coin.

to the CCF

That is called a counterstamp and was done after the coin left the mint.
It is considered damage although certain ones are collectible.

to the CCF and Some counter stamped coins are collectable, and others are just damage.
