Hello everyone. New to the forum. Getting into collecting here in Ohio. Parents had a few morgan, peace, Kennedy halves and a few partially completed books that I played with as a kid. Interested in roll hunting. What coins do you recommend first? Got a few halves from the bank. Didn't find much. Wondering if filling penny, nickel, dime, quarter books are worth it. Bought a microscope to look over coins (eyes not what they used to be). Pretty cool looking thru the change. Found a spitting horse. Also, what are you buying from the mint right now?

to the CCF and this fantastic hobby! Of all of the denominations, I hunted quarters and halves the most. Quarters were worth the hunt for the W's when they first came out. When there are customer wrapped half dollar rolls, I pick those up too for the potential silvers. I have since transfered my collecting focus to quality classic coins. Coin roll hunting is certainly one of the best places to start collecting!

Keep in mind you probably won't find enough coins worth money to pay for you gas to and from the bank. It is more of a thrill than economically profitable.
Suffering from bust half fever.
