I wanted to get a roll of the new Lincoln cents, both P and D, but the mint doesn't seem to have them available. I know they debuted two weeks ago, I've read a few posts from those of you who attended the show and bought rolls. Can we not order those rolls form the mint?

At this point, I don't know if they'll be available in two roll sets or not from the Mint. Have to wait and see. However, the banks will have the 2009 rolls of cents eventually and those will be the same coins that were purchased at the "Lincoln Celebration Show" in Illinois. No difference except location acquired. Those rolls from that event stamped at the post office (brilliant by the way) will/can have some numismatic value over bank rolls that the rest of us will get, potentially, even though they're the exact same quality coin that we'll be able to get.
But, yeah, we're ALL waiting to see if the Mint will have these available !

Given their "money making drool" propensity that Congress and the Mint see with selling US Mint products, I would guess that they will be available AND soon though !

Thanks for the info. Guess I'll just have to be patient. As a resident of Illinois myself, I'm quite excited about the mint's decision to create so much great coinage for President Lincoln. Already have the commemorative proof, wanted to get some of the cents to join it. =)

The mint has stated that they will be offering the Lincoln cents in rolls, this fall after all 4 of the designs have been completed. But with the ecomomic down turn I still wonder if they will be able to offer this service.

Well if they sell two Kennedy rolls for $33.00 plus shipping........ Something tells me that they'll find a way to overprice these new Lincoln Cent rolls too to make some bucks there as well !..... It's the "profit" they'll make that will churn the decisions. Now, they might not mint as many or something with different coinage...during this "economic meltdown".....and then much "lower mintage numbers" would certainly be great for us !

You know the mint will turn a profit out of them, they always do. I hate having to wait to get something .

If I were the mint, I would take their slowest moving item right now, and add 2 rolls of cents for $2.00 more and make a $1.00 profit off the cents, and sell the wazizee out of the other product. Just my outlook! BD

Buy the time we all get them we will probably regret them by the price that we all pay I think its better to rush the banks when they are released only problem is the rolls will be mixed in with 2009 log cabin and other year cents

I just hope we don't have to wait to long. Kind of like having to wait for the new quarter in 99

I see the treas. dept. minting a lot of these. I understand that there is no need for the cent in commerce back reserves, but I think also the mint could be holding back a little to create a little hype re: the new Lincoln Cent with a market turn out similar to the Statehood Quarters. Just MHO
