As many of you know, I have been collecting Lincolns ever sense I have been on this board and have learned a lot just by reading the posts. But like many others I am still having issues with a certain cent and that would be the 1970 S. To add salt to the wound, this is the last cent I need to finish my Memorials and because of that I have been extra careful about not buying what ever comes around. Over the last week I have been going through parts of my collection and came upon some 19070 S cents that were put away because of my lack of knowledge, I just recently started looking at them and realized I still have no idea if they are large or small dates.

Another part of the problem is that they were found in circulation and the wear on them could be about anything or nothing at all. Each one is a little different to me and confusing me that much more so any help (especially BadThad and coppercoins) would be appreciated.

They all appear to be large dates to me. I am no expert, though.

That being said, the black lines drawn on the photos coupled with the relatively small images make it hard to be sure. Can you post bigger pictures without the lines drawn on them?

They all look 'low 7' to me.

I went through the same thing, check this thread out.

Those all appear to be large dates.
I think the link above covers all the possible small date markers.

Thanks, I was afraid of that, but also glad to know that is what I was thinking they were in the first place. It just gets tough when you look at them long enough and want something so bad, you start to second guess yourself.

I have to agree, they are all large dates. The small dates are very obvious with the 7 being level with the top of the 0 and the 0 being a little different shape.

Yeah, I believe Coin Community has pretty much beaten that issue into submission.
