You can see scooped out areas to the right of the raised crescents. Likely happened long ago so that it toned the same as the rest of the coin.

Damage to the right. Anyone else see the repunching to the left of the 7 though?

its probably an 1847 N-3. the 7 is repunched with the underdigit to the left. to the right of the 7 you are seeing post mint damage.

this is not the 47/7 that people pay way too much for.
