shantiom Pillar of the Community United States 522 Posts	Posted 10/26/2022 12:05 am That is a post mint damaged coin it seems where intentional scrubbing of the devices was done possibly in the name of art when in circulation, see reverse--and maybe followed by 21 years of circulation...fun to look at , but likely not a split planchet, if you do a search of that term on this site, you will see other explanations with photos, but then again I still consider myself to be a learner in this stuff. It may have been an accident, or it may have been intentional, if you weren't there when it happened, you'll never know. It's just Post Mint Damage (PMD.)
