As a general rule, a mystery token with enigmatic Chinese/Japanese writing on it is generally assumed to be a pachinko token. Pachinko are Japanese pinball-like games and pachinko parlours are one of the few places in Japan where gambling is technically legal, but they are required by law to use tokens rather than cash.
