Got my Unc and Proof today in the mail. I was pretty pumped up! Pulled the Unc out, loved it! Pulled the proof out and loved it! But wait, looking closer on the proof is a pretty big smudge/scrape on the reverse!! Even some hazing on the obverse just above Abe's head..! I cant stand it, I have to return it! Now I know for a fact it will take forever for it to come back. Hope to god it comes back better next time. Anyone else have any issues with theirs? There was no return postage or anything, have they ever included return postage so we dont have to pay for it? Looks like I'll be out a few bucks, but its worth it to me.

Yea I think your responsible for the shipping back. Luckily never had to send anything back. Think the problem was due poor packaging? I've not been happing with there packaging a couple of times.

My proof was great it was the unc that had a black dot on it. Makes me want to take a rag out and rub the coin. You can see it in the picture. Its down from his ear across from his neck. One little black dot.

Sent it off today. Sucks to know it will be forever to get it back plus who knows if it will be a good one! I just want a raw of each then I think i'll be buying some slabs in 69 later on.

Yes one of mine had a scratch right down the obverse field. But I'm stuck with it anyway because it would cost me twice as much to return it than to just keep it and cut my losses.

Well for $4 I shipped it back and got a flawless one. I'm pretty glad I did it.

That's an advantage of living in the US and dealing with the US mint. However the rules state that you must return the complete shipment, and that means I'd be returning my slabbed coins as well. That isn't happening for a single coin.

That is an unfortunate situation. I've just started recently ordering from the mint. Do they often have problems sending out coins with dots, smudges, scrapes, etc. or this just an unfortunate one-off?
