I hope I posted this to the right forum, could not find where else it would fit.

I got this at the world series games back 10 years ago. Trying to find more info on this but enviromints web site stinks. How many minted, value etc..

Has anyone dealt with these coins?

Not a coin just a silver round, probably not worth any more than an ounce of silver unless you are one of the three dozen Marlins fans

Ahhhhhh Ha Ha !.....too funny !....

Jeffreyice1.....

My father has a "Presidential Proof Silver Dollar Set" from Washington to Nixon in a complete attractive set and ALL of the 50 states in "Silver Proof Silver Dollar" form.......
Problem is.....these were minted by a "private mint".....in this case, "The Franklin Mint" and as biokemist6 said.....they're only worth the price of silver.......nothing numismatically whatsoever.....
My Dad even has these in a velvet cherry wood case and each Proof Silver coin (round) is encapsulated in plastic......VERY NICE !
He absolutely does not believe me when I tell him that they're only worth the price of silver.......which is still a nice chunk of change though.....but..........not a U.S. Mint product.

I know these guys and Enviromint of the past and Current Enviromint are two totaly seperate companies. When Enviromintcoins.com was registared they had no Idea that a company of the same name existed and apperently made a lot of sports memerobilia rounds etc.
most likely they were not a real mint at all just a name who most likely contracted to have product made though any number of different mints.
Anyone who can have dies made up can contract with a mint and call them selves anything. Not that its good or bad, its just how it is.
Similar products seem to sell anywhere from spot to $65 each.
Like anything, value is worth what someone is willing to pay for it.

Hey jewlerdave,

You seem to know quite a lot about these private firms... do you know anything about a CINCINNATI refiner? I had an old pour bar that says CINCINNATI .999 fine 10 00 oz and that's it...

Jewelerdave! I agree with you! What something is worth is roughly equivalent to what you can get for it at that time. People collect all sorts of stuff! just because somebodys silver rounds aren't made by a government mint does not mean they have only silver value. Lots of people collect tokens and medals. People collect stamps and they have no real value once they have been cancelled (other than collector value) yet they are actively collected. So I am inclined to believe that a nice set of silver proof rounds would be worth more than silver price to a collector of such an item (unless the mintage was enormous).

ratman.
There are people that collect sports related coins/tokens/medals (just to name one topic) and many such items have a premium over melt. I seem to recall seeing these often on ebay though, although I may be mistaken.
