It's much more uniform in color than my poor photography suggests. Very light scratch on obverse. Thanks in advance! Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

I'm in at EF40 the scratch might not be a factor as I don't really see it, if the planchet was better I can see EF45 on it.

Nice crusty XF40
Looks like she's wearing her original surfaces, always a bonus!

looks like an all original coin. XF40 pretty close to 45. the obverse is holding me back from that grade

Thank you, CC Family, for your input. Here's another pic of the obverse that greatly exaggerates the scratch (K3). It's a very light superficial scratch, but a definite one and has the characteristics of a staple scratch. It wasn't obvious in the pics when I bought it, and unfortunately it's not returnable. Oh well, it's the city of my birth so I can accept it.

I wouldn't be concerned about it enough to worry, I think it would affect neither the grade nor the price.

This pic suggests that the right obverse field has been cleaned, perhaps in an effort to lessen the appearance of the scratch.

i would definitely not attempt to clean this one up as all it will do is enhance the scratch.

That scratch will not be an issue.

The scratch is new. Lighting makes the right obverse field appear cleaned, but it actually has a nice even grey patina.
