When my mother passed in 2011, she had a strange collection of coins. She had no rhyme or reason, and often bought multiples of anything that she liked or she thought might one day be valuable. I found several of these. I have no idea what weight or denomination the publisher was going for. My father once bought a "Gold Half Dollar" but I think it was actually bigger than these (BTW disappeared shortly after the Carter administration. I gifted several of these to a friend. I would appreciate any insights anyone might have. Weirdness is relative, and I have some of the weirdest relatives I know.

@bob, that is a neat little proof gold medal you have there. I'm pretty sure that it was made by the Columbia Mint for Reagan's inauguration. Does yours weigh 0.3 g or 0.5 g? I see both on the interwebs (one such auction linked below). As to the value, it would surprise me if there is much value beyond melt, but you might find a super fan of Reagan who would pay a premium.

Funny you should say that. My mother was a great fan of Reagan et. al.. I do not know the weight, from the few loose ones I handled, I'm guessing the 0.3 g.

I really appreciate the info

Very interesting. Many years ago my late mother-in-law gave me a few miniature Saint-Gaudens double eagles from the Columbia Mint that are 24k gold and 0.3g each, as well as a miniature Lincoln Cent in 10k gold and 0.17g in weight. They have surprisingly good detail for such tiny pieces.
