What do you think this 1968-S or the 1968 LMC would grade as? Are either of them worth sending off? ** I know the forum asks to make one post per coin, but I hope this is ok since it's only 2 and they are the same year. Thank you!

EF details (gouged) on the '68-S and AU-58 on the '68, both just spenders to me.

Neither coin is worth slabbing. This year is common (they made billions) and only the super high MS grades (>MS-66) are even worth considering. Both coins are worth 1 cent.

68S - VF details, damaged

68 - AU-53

To CCF , OMG hold everything . Do not send these off to any place except your pocket change . Common circs, Just spenders , Value 1¢ each . Or maybe a little more for their copper content .

april, its a good thing you checked first before looking into grading a coin. its extremely rare that you can pick anything from circulation that should be slabbed.

it doesn't make sense unless a coin is worth $150 or more. most seasoned collectors dont even slab their coins due to the cost. you could expect to spend about $25 plus shipping/insurance per coin plus a subscription to a grading service. PCGS charges a minimum of $69 for a subscription. so you can see it really is not worth grading any average coin.

if you have a question or concern about a coin, just post it here. we will let you know

Thank you everyone! There was some mis-information I had about the cost of grading and have discovered that I still have a whole bunch to learn about evaluating the condition of my circulated coins. I appreciate all of your replies!
