Here's an 'oddball' set I made for my desk.
A 5-coin set of Colorado Quarters in different strikes:

Even in the scan, you can see luminance differences between the coins.
The Silver Proof just 'glows' compared to the Clad Proof when in indirect lighting. The difference is easily noticed with the two side-by-side (a lot more than I thought it would be!).

The burnished die on the Satin Finish D also really stands out when it's side-by-side with the BU D & P business strikes.

Awesome! I really enjoy how easily you can see the difference in strikes.

...How much would you charge to make me one for Alabama?

I really like that and think a lot of people would buy them if you put them together. Not sure if it's worth your time... either way, great idea!

What a nice set! Great presentation. I am working on something similar to help me grade by putting different grades of the same coin in the holder....I'll post it when I have it all done.

Since I didn't want to break up any Mint/Proof Sets, this set didn't get put together until I found the premium coins for sale 'loose' in 2×2's at local dealers.

I've had the Silver Proof for a while, sitting on my desk in an Airtite. Then I saw a Satin Finish D in a 2×2 and bought it. So then the Satin Finish D was in an Airtite sitting next to the Silver Proof.

My Harris 5-Quarter frosty holder was waiting for a Clad Proof in a 2×2 to show up, and I finally got one of those last week (while I was picking up a coin for manilagalleontrade)

Normally, for modern Proofs I only collect Silver Proofs and leave them in the original Mint packaging, so I'm not in the business of breaking up sets.... (sorry, gettingbrowned) Although, 'strike sets' might be a good idea for those that do break up sets and have spare coins. The fastest way to assemble a 'strike set' would probably be to buy the loose coins on ebay... (my three premium coins were from local dealers' inventory, I wasn't in too much of a hurry to complete this set.)

PS: If I happen to find a Satin Finish P in a 2×2, I may put it next to the Satin Finish D and put the D business strike at the right.

Cool set but you are missing a satin! Do they make 6 coin holders?
