I believe it's just a scratch, but the perfect circle is intriguing. Any ideas on how this could have happened? Also, I think it's concave, hard to tell because of the small size though sorry guys.

The coin was likely the end coin in a roll. The machines that wrap the coins crimp the ends, which can cause such damage.
