I'm still not entirely sure why these coins are suddenly "news", form a mainstream media point of view. The coins themselves were dug up in 1713. The only "news" is the publication of a research paper with strong evidence the coins are actually ancient. But the idea that this proves the existence of a hitherto-unknown emperor is stretching the science past breaking point.
