Hi folks, given the historical aspect I ordered three of the Lincoln proof commemorative dollars from the mint. They arrived saturday and to my astonishment while examining them I discovered that one of them looked different.Lincolns ear on one of the coins has a hole in it just above where the ear canal would be.Its not small. It can be clearly seen without magnifying. At the risk of sounding garish,to me it looks like a bullet hole kinda like the fake bullet hole decals people put on cars. The spot looks to me like maybe a piece from another planchet may have come off onto the die and was struck into the one I got.The hole looks polished in appearance so I do not think mine was the one that a piece lifted out from.Has anyone else gotten one of these Lincoln Commems.with the same mark? Also I cannot help to be curious about the posibility tha this coin would be a valuable piece.
