This piece would be considered a token, looks like a 'plain 4' variety with an approx. value around $12 (Canadian) in VF. Don't know if the mark is a scratch or a die crack, and if so if there would be value added.

Quite a lot of wear on the reverse
That's not a die crack, it's severe damage, you can see the metal has been displaced
The token is virtually worthless
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

Not a die crack, but still a nice token regardless the slice. It's not worth much monetarily, but many tokens are worn smooth and in much worse shape.

To put things in perspective here's one that sold on ebay last week for less than $4.
Much less wear than the OP's token and absolutely incredible die cracks on the reverse.
