You should be able to pry the tabs back and release it but I would just leave it. The word cent isn't either grease filled or has been removed. Report this Post to the Staff

Except, why would anyone go to the trouble of making a replica Cnadian penny, when a genuine one is cheap and readily available? But if it's a replica, that may explain why they obliterated "1 cent" from the reverse. Wouldn't want to be an actual counterfeiter, if all you want to do is make a replica coin for some jewellery.
