Could anyone tell me just what the rules are for the fg. Is it completely gone? Think I read something about visible at a certain magnifying level.

I am going to speak on this as to my opinion only so do not take it as fact. I think it is just Grease Filled Die in that area when struck so to me if there is any sign of FG. then there would no value above face. Remember, if you like it then that is all that counts.

There are not hard fast rules to these. Personally, I see them as a gimmick, it is a simple die event issue. On this coin I see the FG, so you make up your own mind to keep or not. Same goes for the cents with no FG and or floating roof.
