The surfaces are smooth, it has MS details (it even has six steps) and it still has some luster to it. So do you think it's improperly annealed/sintered? Is it rare for this year? Should I send it to a TPG?
I have some just like that along with Quarters and Dimes. Found them while metal detecting in a sand filled playground. It is possible that this one too was excavated. I am not saying it was, just throwing that out there so you know.
Purple is not a color one associates with an improperly annealed planchet. I don't see any mint luster, either. It would appear to be environmental discoloration.
