I have several German banknotes? that are made of cloth. Are they really banknotes or tourist attractions? Some even have ribbon edging.

Probably notgeld, produced in the early 20s because of a shortage of coin after WWI. Once issued out of necessity, before long, people started collecting the different issues from different places. This led to the idea that they could be issued on different materials especially made for collectors since collectors would pay a premium for them and would then withdraw them from circulation, where the town or city would not even have to redeem them.
From your description, this is probably what you have. I personally, have never seen any of these collectors' issues. Could we see pictures?

Yup, exactly what WpgLwr said. They're most likely notegelds, or emergency money issued by individual states or cities to make up for inflation or small coins. Most of these I've seen have denominations in the billions of marks, so a small one would be interesting.

I hope this works - This is the first time I've tried to upload images. The note is silk screened on white/off-white silk cloth. If this works I will upload the other two with ribbon binding. Do you think they have any value? Eva Image: cloth1.jpg47.03 KB Image: cloth2.jpg45.61 KB

Here's the other two with ribbon edging. The backs are blank. Do you have any idea where I can find some information and value on these notes? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me. Eva Image: cloth3.jpg61.72 KB

oh wow! So that's what you mean by ribbon! I thought they were just cut wavy. As for information, there used to be GermanNotes.com, but sadly it has been discontinued. :(Just kidding! Thank you wayback machine! http://web.archive.org/web/20071012043301/http://www.germannotes.com/As for value, there should be a Catalog of World Paper Money that goes back to the 20s somewhere at your library. But as for these notes, they are seriously very unique, and I would hold on to them... or sell them at $1000+ a pop
