Hi everyone, wondering if I could get help identifying a coin, SEE PICS
I'm pretty sure it's silver but I can't seem to find any info online for coins with this picture. Also it seems strange that the Queen is facing left?
It weighs just over 23 grams

It's not a coin, but a medal. The left-facing portrait is presumably to help indicate that it is a medal, and not a legal tender coin.

The little "H" at the bottom indicates this is a Heaton Mint product.

Thanks Sap, that makes sense. I'm really confused as on the edge it has "BM" and "916" stamped on it, 916 being 22ct, and generally if it is plated it will say, but this doesn't

It looks like this one --->https://www.worthpoint.com/worthope...d-1778341460

But mine is only 23.12 grams and is stamped with the BM on the edge like this one but also with 916 next to it.

@jmac1932, there were so many medals issued for the Queen's 25th anniversary that you could not find a listing for all of them. It was quite common to issue the same design in smaller and larger sizes.

Thanks Oriole, I was just curious as it was stamped 22k, but all the others I could find were silver

Sorry I am late. I am a collector and cataloguer of Heaton/Birmingham Mint trial, test and advertising pieces along with medals issued by them.

In my reference materials, there is no mention of a gold piece. I have seen the silver, copper and gilt silver pieces.

In the thread, I did not see the diameter of this medal. Can you share this information if it is available? if possible can you share a photo of the hallmark? I know these can be tough to photograph clearly.
