Although I've accumulated these "excessively rare" Birmingham Workhouse copper sixpence tokens over a number of years, I've finally brought them together for the first time just so I could practice on them with my new camera, an iPhone 14 Pro (48 megapixels in RAW!). Your comments and critiques are most welcome! Looks like macro works okay, I think, since the photo below can be opened up to full screen on my 27" monitor, and beyond, without losing anything. See what happens when you double-click on the photo. Judging by my other attempts, -- mainly at head-on shots -- it's obvious that I still have a steep learning curve to overcome in the lighting department. I'll work up a more extensive post with descriptions, dimensions (monstrous!), history, and more photos for the U.K. corner of CCF, but for now I should at least identify them, so: the one in the center is Withers 376a (Davis 30), and the other two are W376 (D29). In the background solely for a size reference is a fuzzy-looking uncirculated one penny token, W395 (D41). Happy holidays to all! Wow, daltonista - great pic! I was unfamiliar with these tokens, and am looking forward to your upcoming posts.

Nice. I had a quick look on the bay and there are a few for sale that look similar. John1

Thanks, everyone, for the comments. I'll post a link back here to my (upcoming) more expansive info, which will be in the UK zone where there will be more "general interest" in these pieces, I would think. (Subscribe, I guess, for notification...might take me until the week between Christmas and New Year's, considering how busy things seem to be getting around here "in real life.") And as for you, John1 -- good one! (I didn't look...)
