The Wide A M/Close AM is only on the Lincoln Memorial Cents. The difference is that the Wide A M the word AMERICA Looks like this: A M E R I C A, evenly spaced. On the Close AM Cents it appears as AM E R I C A. (Check a 1959-1992 Cent to see the wide one. 1993 ones are all Close AM, even the proof Cents. After 1993 the Proof Cents were the wide A M and the business struck coins are the Close AM.

In 1998, 1999, 2000 Philly Cents there are some that appear they were hubbed with the proof design (Not used proof reverse dies)Since then another year 1996 Philly cent also has a large AM. Also some proof dies appear to be hubbed with the Close AM hubs. 1998 & 1999. (known so far these two years of proof Cents.
All Cents from 1959-1992 are the Wide A M Cents

The 1998 & 2000 Philly wide A M is minimal as for extra value compared with the 1999 wide A M. The Close AM proofs seem to be in short supply as well. There is also a 1992 Cent with the Close AM that also is pricey and hard to find. So the harder it is to find a Wide/close A M/AM that was not the general method of creating dies for those years, the more valuable they are to collectors.
