Hello forum,

I own this beautiful lion daalder from 1660, but I'm struggling finding a match for its mint. Can you please help me? Many thanks in advance

The obverse lettering:
* MO ARG PRO CN * * FOE DRIDIRE * (both D mirrored)

The reverse:

CONFIDENS D NON.MOVETVR. O * 1660

German States Reitberg thaler, silver plated copper, KM 72.2, noted with varieties with inverted Ds.

Super interesting! Thank you for your knowledge and comments.

I just found a study from C. Gamberini written in 1977 who attributed these specimen to a clandestine mint in north Italy. Due to a small hoard found between Lombardia and Piedmont, although seems like there aren't any proofs

Hi this is Spyro. Also UK and I like Talers. This looks like a 17th Century Dutch issue. Very nice coin mate!
