Hello. I'm Andrea. I was just wondering if you ever found out anything else about your nickel? I have a penny that has the same circle but my writing on the back looks as if it's being flushed down the toilet while there's a perfect circle exactly in the middle. But the front is normal. I have been trying to find out if what we have is some discovery coins. Different variations of error but none the less. Pennies do not get put in vending machines. So we may want to hang on to our swirling coins.

@ Swirly83 to the CCF

The OP coin (from 2017!) is simply post mint damage of some sort, which was clearly explained above. Post a photo of your coin and we can help.

@swi, first welcome to CCF. Second, rather than reanimate an old thread, best practice is to start a new one for each new coin. For reference, here is a link to that old thread. http://goccf.com/t/298298
