Yikes @mcf, there isn't much remaining detail left on this piece. About all I can see is from about one to three o'clock on the first image is CARO. This could be from the Latin spelling of a King Charles.

thanks @spence for the direction. I did some further cleanup and it fits a style of Charles Irish coins around the 1630-40 period. Sorry as the 24hr edit period has expired I cannot add the new images.
