Lately I have become interested in Civil War-era tokens - both store cards and patriotic tokens.
The only reference I have is Fuld A Guide to Civil War Store Cards 4th (1982), so obviously it's time to upgrade.
It seems that Fuld Patriotic Civil War Tokens 1861-1865 6th (2018) and Fuld U.S. Civil War Store Cards. The Definitive Collectory's Resource 3rd (2014) are the definitive works on these tokens.
But there is also Q. David Bowers A Guide Book of Civil War Tokens. Patriotics, Store Cards, Sutler Tokens, Encased Postage. 3rd (2018).
Should I acquire all three? Am I missing something?
Many thanks for your input!

George and Melvin Fudd literally wrote the book on US Civil War tokens and their works are the foundation for dedicated collectors of the series. You won't go wrong with adding the recent updates to their titles to your library.

The Bowers book is a great overview of the series and a solid resource if you don't plan too deep of a dive.

Thank you, commems! I was planning on getting the new Fuld editions. Was not sure if Bowers advanced on their work.
