Just saw this thread, and wanted to make a little side comment.
I notice that the old Whitman folder has the S nickels before the D ones. I thought this was strange because the few Whitmans I've seen (for cents) have the D's before the S's.
Why would the S's be listed first?

Quote: Why would the S's be listed first? That is a great question. And they are consistent throughout the entire folder.. did Whitman start making these before the more modern coin folders.

It's been a while since I commented on this topic, and just wanted to say you've made a lot of nice upgrades to your set, Dearborn! I look forward to seeing your future additions.

Thanks EV - this one cost me a hair under $300 Not too bad considering that it is a key (or is it semi-key?) date, mint, and type.. I'm chasing the elusive 1913-S type 2 next (I think)

one more to add today - 1913-S Type 2 Buffalo nickel(with almost 1.3 million minted). This completes all 6 coins for the first year issue. This coin is uncirculated so I put it in a low to mid MS Grade. I'm not seeing any kind of contact hits or dings on it. I picked this coin because it is in great shape, and has a very nice die clash showing on both sides.
