Well, I am going to embarrass myself, lol..but. My oldest coin at this time is a 1903 Indian Head cent. BUT! I have only just started getting deeply into coin collecting, so hopefully in a month, if not weeks I will have an older one. Hopefully i'll get an ancient coin like some of these sometime too! Chris

I can't approach the already-established benchmark, but I will take the opportunity to mention that through the good auspices of a couple of forum members, I'm acquiring both my oldest, and my first Darkside, coins, a couple of early British pennies. More credit to come later.

Don't feel so bad, my oldest coin is a 1906 British penny, the one pictured in my avatar.

Well I guess you are both right. I just assumed it wasn't that old because of the people with ancient coins:) I guess 1903 is still fairly old lol.

Currently, my oldest is a 1814 small date bust dime. I am trying to locate a nice 1798 large cent for my type album so I can have something from the 18th century in there.

WOW. Coins from the 5th or 6th century B.C. and beyond. Makes my avatar look like a new coin. Thanks for your posts. There are some really nice coins out there. Regards Steve

I just got my oldest coin from KLD - it's a nice Elizabeth I half groat. The portrait is better than I expected and the lettering is great! I'll try to get a pic posted in the next couple of days.
