Ondiwave, that is a beautiful 1946 LWC! Definitely high MS, but the O in ONE will hold it back a bit.
Inordinately fascinated by bits of metal with strange markings and figures

A little difficult to make out detail when the coin is photographed while in the 2x2. Very nice example, yes. Given what's posted, I'm thinking somewhere in the MS64-66 range. Chatter shows a little on Abe's shoulder and the O in ONE.
Strongly suggest flattening those staples.

I'll say MS-65+RD. Definitely not worth grading.

The Max HD-50DF flat clinch stapler I bought on recommendations from Forum members is the finest stapler I've ever owned. Not having to flatten staples on 2X2s is such a relief. It's a very sturdy well made and ergonomic tool. Definitely worth the $20.

Also some additional marks in front of the ear that you may miss due to the orientation and also on the center of the 'coat'. It is still an excellent example for that year in a higher mint state, however based on the price guide even a red mint state graded NGC MS64 is worth $13, a MS65 is worth $25 which seems to be the range. So it would need to grade about MS66 at value $80 or MS67 at value $1,250 to really make it worthwhile for grading for value purposes although getting a nice example in a graded slab for a personal collection or preservation just not making a profit potentially with those values is another reason some do it. https://www.ngccoin.com/price-guide...es/cents/99/

Yes a good one Hondo, although I personally had mentioned I picked up the Max Hd-11Flk (Black) Vaimo Stapler flat clinch model which is a bit more compact. It came with 1 box of staples but can get more obviously. https://www.amazon.com/Max-Hd-11Flk.../B0088TKTO2/

the shoulder marks are die related you see this on a lot of them. grading companies ignore most these. some of them are not die related only the ones on the shoulder itself are die related. the reverse marks around the O area are also die related i'd say MS65+RD close to 66 in any case not worthy of slabbing, recent ebay sales are in the $120 range for a 66RD. PCGS would cost you $70 for a subscription then $22 to grade plus shipping and insurance both ways. your coin would need to grade 67 or better and thats not happening.
