How would one go about valuing a coin without getting it graded. I came across this Nickle the Pres. has no nose or mouth, looks weird lol.

is the anomalous area raised above the empty fields of the coin? if so, it could be an error, higher resolution photos might help

I'll agree with the previous comments, this appears to be post-mint (probably intentional) damage.

You have already found the most effective method - post a clear photo here at the CCF and a lot of our true experts will give you solid advice.

In this case the coins value is 5 cents.
